Foundational Principles of Teacher Training Programmes at Bhartiya Shiksha Board

Teachers are the torchbearers of wisdom and values, and integrating principles from our ancient texts into their training can enhance their ability to inspire, educate, and build a more ethical and harmonious learning environment. At Bhartiya Shiksha Board (BSB), Professional development (PD) workshops are designed to engage educators and leaders for meaningful learning experiences and challenging the status quo to create sensitive classrooms. They also support the school to ensure schools meet professional learning requirements as per NEP 2020.

The Taittiriya upanishad beautifully puts the relation between teacher and student as.

“Om sahana vavatu | Sahanu bhunaktu | Sah veeryam karavahai | Tejas Vinavati tamastuma vidhwishavahi’’
(Brahmanandavalli, Taittiriya upansihad 1.1)

May He protect us both, may He be pleased with us both, may we work together with vigour; may our study make us illumined, may there be no dislike between us.

We at BSB also believe in it and intend to lead our teachers to consider it as the core essence of all classroom processes.
