Education is a noble means to awaken human beings’ true character, pursue learning with humility and liberate one from the limitations of thought, feeling and action. Education leads one to achieve worldly and transcendental happiness. The ancient saying maps this thought:

विद्या ददाति विनयं विनयाद् याति पात्रताम् ।
पात्रत्वात् धनमाप्नोति धनात् धर्मं ततः सुखम् ॥
(हितोपदेश, कथामुख, 6)

Education makes one humble; humility begets worthiness worthiness creates wealth and enrichment; enrichment leads to right conduct righteous conduct brings contentment.

BSB CURRICULUM AND TEXTBOOKS

  • Promote respect for Bharat’s unique multicultural identity through pan-India textbooks that demonstrate Bharat’s unique unity through the amalgamation of regional literature from all states of Bharat.
  • Focus on developing STEAM Competencies in the learners through mandatory teaching of Science, Technology, English, Arts and Mathematics.
  • Include Computer Programming, Vocational Education and Training, Yoga, Sports, and Fine and performing arts Training.
  • Adopt the learning process given in नैषधीयचरितम्- १/४ ‘अधीतिबोधाचरणप्रचारणैः’ Adopts the indigenous pedagogy of Adhiti (Study), Bodh (Understanding), Aacharan (Practise and Application) Prasaar (Articulation).
  • Follow a learner-centred curriculum based on inquiry-based experiential learning.
  • Bring back the time-honoured Guru-Shishya Parampara to develop a meaningful and nurturing relationship between the teacher and the taught.
  • Ensure unity of knowledge by adopting a multi-disciplinary approach to integrate and adapt the content of other domains in the language lessons.
  • Contain fun-filled, interactive and collaborative activities for the development of critical thinking skills and analytical abilities in the learners.
  • Focus on skill development in all the subjects through the Four-Block learning approach of shared, guided and independent practice.
  • Integrate values, life skills and 21st-century skills for the learner’s holistic development.
  • Encourage peer learning and peer mentoring to build a positive, collaborative and empathetic learning environment.
  • Consider feedback and improvement to be the real purpose of the assessment.
  • Encourage self-assessment to enhance the metacognitive abilities of the learner.
  • Design Hybrid Textbooks with integrated digital content through QR Codes.
  • Develop transversal skills in the learners, thus making them more versatile and adaptable in the 21st century.
  • Advocate the regular practice of Yog and Dhyana for the physical and mental wellness of the learners.
